The things people ask.
How do I connect with someone?
Both of you need Atween installed. There is no web version and no link that opens the app for someone who does not have it — a connection only ever happens between two devices that both run it.
In the same room, one of you shows a code and the other scans it. That code changes every few minutes. If you are not in the same room, you can send a one-time link instead.
The link carries nothing. No name, no photo, no message, and no preview text — it is deliberately blank, so that anyone who sees it over a shoulder learns nothing. Your name appears to them only after they have opened the app themselves and chosen to look.
How do I delete what I have written?
From inside the app, and it costs nothing. Deletion sits on the free floor: it does not require a plan, and it does not stop working when a plan ends.
It is not reversible. Once you confirm, the records are gone rather than hidden, so export first if you want to keep a copy.
How do I leave?
One tap. There is no retention flow — no discount offered on the way out, no survey you have to decline, no chain of confirmations designed to make you give up.
Before you go, you can export everything you wrote as a file that is yours to keep. Export and deletion are both free, with or without a plan.
Does Atween renew automatically?
No. There are three lengths — one month, three months, and twelve months — and each one is paid once. None of them renews on its own.
When the term runs out, it runs out. There is no charge you have to remember to stop, and no date you have to put in your calendar to avoid being billed. If you want to end it earlier than that, it is one tap and, again, no retention flow.
The first fourteen days are free and need no card.
What happens to what I wrote if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged. What you wrote stays exactly where you left it.
Here is the part that is not in our favour, said plainly because you should hear it from us rather than find out later: you will not be able to read it inside the app. Opening Atween again needs an active plan.
What never needs a plan: getting help in a crisis, exporting everything you wrote as a file that is yours to keep, deleting your records, filing a complaint or an appeal, withdrawing your consent to training, and closing your account. Those stay free, always, and none of them sits behind a purchase.
How do I reach a person, or appeal a decision?
Complaints and appeals go to complaints@atween.app. Privacy and data requests — access, correction, export, erasure, withdrawing consent — go to privacy@atween.app. They are two separate mailboxes on purpose, so that neither queue hides the other, and neither address was printed here until it had been tested and confirmed to receive mail.
One person reads them. There is no ticketing system behind them and no in-app complaint button yet; being read by someone who can act on it is what makes a complaint received.
