Atween User Agreement

Version: 2026-08-26.1

Last revised: August 26, 2026

Effective date: August 28, 2026

This agreement is written against what the Atween software actually does today, verified against the source code rather than against a template. It takes effect on August 28, 2026.

Welcome to Atween.

What answers you here is a machine, not a person. Atween is not a medical, psychotherapy, legal, financial, or relationship-arbitration service. You can use it for a single session, delete what you wrote, export everything, send something to the other person, or stop — at any time.

Atween is operated by Jingjie (Yumen City) Technology Co., Ltd., registered at Room 102, Office Building East of Qiangsen New Energy, Fuyuan Road, Industrial Park, Xinshiqu Subdistrict, Yumen City, Jiuquan, Gansu Province. Before you use it, please read this agreement together with the Privacy Policy, What Atween Collects, Third Parties Who Process Your Information, Permissions Atween Asks For, and How Atween Uses AI. Where this agreement and one of those documents differ, the reading that better protects your personal information, your control over your data, your ability to stop, and your lawful use prevails. Where the law says otherwise, the law prevails.

Atween is for adults. You must be of the age of majority where you live. If you do not agree with this agreement, please stop using the service.

1. What the service is

1.1 Atween helps you record what happened, review it over time, understand the other person and yourself, prepare something worth saying, deliver it once you have confirmed it, export or delete everything, raise a complaint, and reach safety resources.

1.2 Its AI helps you organise — facts, rhythm, drafts, boundaries, and prompts to take care. It is not a person and not a professional. Its output is not advice.

1.3 Atween processes what you choose to give it, according to the choice you make each time you save something. It does not hand your content to any model or provider without limits: each AI read is given only the minimum material needed for that purpose, still authorised and not deleted.

1.4 Speech you record is transcribed on your own phone, and pictures you take or select are handled there. In this version of Atween, what is saved to the service is the text you write and accept. If a future version changes that, the Privacy Policy and this agreement will say so before it ships, and you will be told.

1.5 We do not use your content to train or fine-tune any model, and we do not permit our providers to. If that ever changes, we will ask you separately and give you a way to withdraw.

1.6 We will keep improving the service, and may add, change, suspend or end parts of it. Where a change materially affects how your personal information is processed, who processes it, payment, deletion, export, exit, or complaints, we will tell you and give you the choices you need.

2. Your account

2.1 You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. That is the only sign-in method Atween offers; there is no password, no phone number, and no sign-in with a third-party account.

2.2 We do not store your email address — only an irreversible keyed hash of it. This means we cannot email you on our own initiative. Notices about changes to this agreement reach you inside the app, where we ask for your agreement again.

2.3 Keep your access to that mailbox secure; anyone who can read it can request a code. Tell us promptly if you see sign-ins you do not recognise.

2.4 You do not need to give us a real name, and you should not impersonate anyone. Do not register in bulk, and do not rent, lend, transfer or sell an account.

2.5 The app provides entries for managing your account and devices, signing out everywhere, and closing your account. Closing it does not erase records the law requires us to keep — purchase and tax records, dispute handling, security audit. Those are held apart from your content and reduced as far as we reasonably can.

2.6 Data you have deleted must not come back through caches, queues, retries, long-term understanding, search indexes, or the material assembled for AI reads. If you ever see it come back, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.

3. How you may use it

3.1 Use Atween lawfully. Do not use it to create, upload, store, publish or deliver material that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually exploitative, fraudulent, or that infringes or endangers someone else.

3.2 Do not try to defeat the product's safety behaviour — by jailbreak prompts, impersonation, bulk or automated requests, abusing the interface, stripping AI labelling, or attacking the models or systems.

3.3 Do not scan, attack, reverse-engineer, scrape, mirror, resell or sub-license the service, its models, interfaces, pages or data.

3.4 Do not use Atween for decisions it is not fit for — medical diagnosis, legal conclusions, investment, credit, hiring, admissions, or anything involving weapons, dangerous substances, self-harm or harming another person, gambling, fraud, harassment, or controlling someone.

4. What you write, and what it produces

4.1 What you put into Atween must be yours to give: material with a lawful source and, where it concerns someone else, the authorisation you need. Writing about another person's words and behaviour in your own record is ordinary use; publishing their material as your own is not.

4.2 You keep your rights in what you write. What Atween generates from your input is yours to use, subject to the law and to third-party rights.

4.3 The same input can produce different output, and two people can receive similar phrasing. Output can be wrong, incomplete, or not what you meant. Check it before you keep it, send it, share it, or act on it.

4.4 Before you share a link, deliver something, or export, look at what it contains. Once it is out, it can be saved, screenshotted or forwarded by others.

4.5 Nothing reaches the other person unless you confirm that specific item. Your originals, drafts, transcripts, and the understanding derived from them are never sent to them on their own.

5. AI output, labelling, and stopping

5.1 Content the AI generates or reorganises is labelled as such. Do not remove, alter or conceal that labelling.

5.2 Atween will not promise you companionship, a cure, a diagnosis, or a verdict, and will not carry your relationship's consequences for you. It is built to help you see clearly, say what you mean, stop, delete, export, and stay in control — not to make you need it.

5.3 When you have been here two hours without a break, you will be told. When something you write hits a safety rule, ordinary interaction pauses, you are told what happened, and you are given ways to stop, to reach someone, or to appeal.

5.4 You can leave by button, by keyword, or by saying so. Once your intent to stop is clear, the product must not question it, count down at you, appeal to your feelings, or put a payment prompt in the way.

5.5 Atween does not show you a guessed label for your emotions, your personality, or your relationship. What it organises stays a candidate until you confirm it, and stops being used if it conflicts with what you say, if its source was deleted, or if you withdraw consent.

6. Rights in the product

6.1 Apart from what belongs to you or to third parties, Atween's software, interfaces, brand, text, design and documentation belong to Jingjie (Yumen City) Technology Co., Ltd. or its licensors.

6.2 Do not use the Atween name, marks, domains or design without written permission, and do not imply a partnership, agency or endorsement that does not exist.

7. Your data

7.1 How we handle your personal information is set out in the Privacy Policy, What Atween Collects, Third Parties Who Process Your Information, and Permissions Atween Asks For.

7.2 From inside the app you can read, copy, export, correct and delete your records; turn long-term understanding off; withdraw a consent; manage permissions; close your account; and raise a complaint or an appeal.

7.3 A settings screen is not the same as the thing actually happening. For deletion, export, withdrawal of consent, account closure, complaints, and delivery to the other person, Atween produces a verifiable status or a receipt, so you are not asked to take our word for it.

8. Paying

8.1 Atween is sold as a one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown by the store before you buy, in your own currency.

8.2 Payment is handled entirely by the store. We never receive your card or bank details. We receive the order and product identifiers, the purchase or refund status, and the store's receipt.

8.3 Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought from, and are requested there. Where the law gives you a right to cancel or a right to a refund, that right applies regardless of the store's policy. You will never be asked to submit your personal content as evidence for a refund.

8.4 Reaching safety resources is always free and never behind a purchase.

9. Complaints

9.1 If something is wrong — with the service, the AI's output, how your data was handled, a permission, a purchase, or a decision we made — use Help & Feedback or the complaints entry in the app, or the contact details published on our pages.

9.2 Please describe the problem without pasting intimate originals or the other person's words unless it is genuinely needed to resolve it. We will not ask you to supply those repeatedly.

9.3 We will acknowledge your complaint, tell you the outcome, and give you a way to appeal it.

10. Limits on liability

10.1 If you break this agreement or the law, we may — proportionately to what happened — warn you, limit features, suspend the service, remove the offending content, close the account, preserve records, or cooperate with the authorities.

10.2 Atween is provided on the basis of what the technology can currently do. We cannot guarantee it will never be interrupted, will never be wrong, will suit every need, or that AI output will always be accurate, complete and timely.

10.3 You are responsible for losses arising from your own unlawful use, from providing someone else's information without authorisation, from publishing sensitive material, from relying on AI output for a serious decision, or from losing control of your mailbox.

10.4 Nothing in this section limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for your statutory consumer rights.

11. Adults, and people who may need more care

11.1 Atween is for adults. Creating an account requires you to affirm that you are of the age of majority where you live, and the service refuses to proceed without it. Atween is not directed to children; if we learn an account belongs to someone below that age, we will close it and delete the associated information.

11.2 Where a user may need particular care, Atween should give clear prompts, accessible presentation, and easy ways to reach help.

11.3 Safety comes before mediation, delivery, payment, retention or growth. Where a situation is dangerous, it is not something to mediate. Atween stops trying to repair the conversation and turns to safety and to outside help.

12. Changes, ending, and the law that applies

12.1 We may change, interrupt or end parts of the service for product, technical, security, supplier, legal or force-majeure reasons. Where a change materially affects your data, what you have paid for, deletion and export, closing your account, complaints, or who processes your information, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to deal with it.

12.2 This agreement is governed by the law of the country or state where you habitually reside, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Where that law gives you rights that cannot be contracted away, those rights are unaffected.

12.3 Please try us first: most problems are faster to fix through the complaints entry than through a court.

12.4 The operator's registered address is Room 102, Office Building East of Qiangsen New Energy, Fuyuan Road, Industrial Park, Xinshiqu Subdistrict, Yumen City, Jiuquan, Gansu Province. The published contact details are privacy@atween.app for privacy questions, and complaints@atween.app for complaints and appeals.
